QCI Approves NTH Ghaziabad for Drone Certification

The Quality Council of India (QCI) has provisionally approved the National Test House (NTH) Ghaziabad as a certification body for drones under the Drone Rules 2021. This approval allows NTH to evaluate drones and provide certification services, including for Vimaana Aerospace Technologies’ Krishiraj 1.0, at a competitive fee of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Drone Certification and UAS Compliance

Under the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) certification scheme, NTH will conduct an onsite assessment of the Krishiraj 1.0 drone in September 2024. This assessment aims to ensure the drone’s compliance with both national and international standards. Type certification is a mandatory requirement for all drones operating within India.

Affordable Certification Services

NTH’s certification services are offered at Rs 1.5 lakh, which is the lowest fee in the industry. This pricing reflects NTH’s dedication to supporting innovation within India’s growing drone sector while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Institutional Expertise

Founded in 1912, NTH operates under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. It has a long-standing history of providing testing, calibration, and quality evaluation services across various industries, thus contributing significantly to India’s industrial advancement.
