IAF Agniveer Vayu Intake Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Candidates born between 1st January 2005 and 1st July 2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible.
- The upper age limit on the date of enrolment should not exceed 21 years.
Marital Status
- Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
- Female candidates must undertake not to get pregnant during the engagement period of four years.
Educational Qualifications
- Science Subjects:
- Passed 10+2/Intermediate with Physics, Mathematics, and English with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English.
- OR Passed three years’ diploma in engineering with 50% aggregate and 50% marks in English (in diploma or 10+2).
- OR Passed two years’ vocational course with non-vocational subjects Physics and Mathematics.
- Other Than Science Subjects:
- Passed 10+2/Intermediate in any stream with 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English.
- OR Passed two years’ vocational course with a minimum of 50% aggregate and 50% in English.
Physical Standards
- Height:
- Male: Minimum 152 cm
- Female: Minimum 152 cm (147 cm for North East/Hilly regions, 150 cm for Lakshadweep)
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
- Chest Expansion: Minimum 5 cm for both male and female candidates.
- Tattoo: Permitted only in specific areas as per Indian Air Force norms.

Monthly Salary
- Year 1: ₹30,000 (In-hand: ₹21,000)
- Year 2: ₹33,000 (In-hand: ₹23,100)
- Year 3: ₹36,500 (In-hand: ₹25,550)
- Year 4: ₹40,000 (In-hand: ₹28,000)
Seva Nidhi Package
On completion of four years, candidates will receive a one-time “Seva Nidhi Package” of approximately ₹10.04 lakhs (excluding interest).

- Non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakhs.

IAF Agniveer Vayu Intake Selection Process
Phase I: Online Test
- Science Subjects: Physics, Mathematics, and English (60 minutes).
- Other Than Science Subjects: English, Reasoning, and General Awareness (45 minutes).
- Both Science and Other Than Science Subjects: Combined paper (85 minutes).
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
Phase II: Physical and Adaptability Tests
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
- Male: 1.6 km run in 7 minutes; 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats.
- Female: 1.6 km run in 8 minutes; 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 15 squats.
- Adaptability Test I: Objective test to assess suitability for deployment in varied conditions.
- Adaptability Test II: Evaluates the ability to adjust to military life.
Phase III: Medical Examination
- Comprehensive medical tests to ensure candidates meet IAF standards.
