Ashtalakshmi Festival 2024– The Ashtalakshmi Festival, held from 6th to 8th December 2024 at Pragati Maidan, Delhi, is a celebration of the culture, traditions and economic might of Northeast India. Showcasing the diversity of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim, the event introduces the progress and beauty of the region.
Inaugurated by the Prime Minister, the festival offers a spectacular glimpse of art, crafts, music and commerce.
Meaning of Ashtalakshmi
Ashtalakshmi refers to the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi, symbolizing virtues like prosperity, wealth, knowledge, agriculture and duty. Northeast India also reflects these qualities with its diversity and progress.
